🚧 Relocate Family Room Feature Wall TV Outlet

Outlet currently is offcenter due to hidden door width not being accounted for

20260307: Feature wall near complete. The outlets were slightly moved and not centered. Will need to test if the outlet works. Wall was damaged and upper plank of cabinet was torn a day before. Not sure if I need to run a conduit but I do need power for tvbox if I were to mount behind tv or ontop of cabinet. Was too slow in removing the network outlet. rn the network outlet is hidden behind the feature wall.

NOTE: free up 2 ports from network switch.

20251213: Didn’t realize until cabinet installers placed the cabinets that someone had changed the layout the fireplace wasn’t supposed to be flanked by 2 thin cabinets. those 2 cabinets was supposed to be one regular cabinet opposite to the hidden door to create a properly aligned layout. It is probably too late to change this now. Just have to make sure cabinet installers don’t glue the counter top.

20251109: Early construction photos shows that the network cable is run from the top. Doesn’t look like it would be possible to relocate the outlet without extending the cable

20251015: Power outlet has been relocated. networking cable has not.

@Todo inquire about recommended approach to installing tv mount. i.e. leave bigger hole on feature wall equal to tv mount or install tv mount on top of tv mount.
